Who is FirstContact?

The brand name first contact is the trading name for Page1 Ltd, which was formed in April 1989 by a group of investors wanting to take advantage of new opportunities arising in the telecommunications industry from deregulation of the radio bandwidth industry. Page1 Ltd became the first privately owned paging network in New Zealand.

By 1993, the successful paging network provided a sufficiently strong base for the company to expand. It acquired Telephone Connection Holdings, a thriving call centre, which had grown from a core business in telecommunications.

Rapid developments in technology led to the acquisition in 1999 of Web World, a well-respected Internet Services Provider in the Auckland region. In 2000, the name first contact then evolved as a better reflection of what business the company is now in. From first contact's Auckland head office in Penrose, first contact now provides contact and communication management by means of the most up-to-date telecommunications tools: call centre, paging, Internet and all variations in between!

Page1 has its own paging network and Internet Service Provider, so first contact can manage messages and drive communications through pagers, digital mobile, fax, email and the internet. We combine the best of the human element with the efficiencies of technology to get both working for you and your customers.
